Nividia just spoke of GPU rendering in the cloud. It is most definitely possible. www.gputechconf.com/page/live-stream-source1.htmlThis makes me think of the reason why Microsoft wanted to go always online. They could probably do it. I have no idea the bandwidth for such things, but looks like Microsoft knew what they were doing all along.

Good news. I think Nvidia did a small tech demo about this sort of thing months ago, but it's nice to see them talk more publicly about it.

Yup. And since "Micro$oft" can't be trusted, maybe gamers will take cloud GPU rendering seriously. And then the question arises, who has the better cloud infrastructure; Nvidia or Microsoft? Then it's all greenlight from there on.

The good thing is Microsoft, for those games, can just require online. Titanfall is kind of the test case. It would have been so much easier to have the always on console, but we couldn't win that battle early on but...99% of the people that have internet is online anyway, so that whole play offline is/was "faux outrage" IMHO.

It's an illusion of choice that gamers think they have. In reality, if you want to be a 21st Century gamer then you need to be online. Sony so elegantly used this illusion to kick Microsoft in the back during last years E3.

gamers are definitely a mental lacking breed. i mean why they constantly mock new tech is crazy. all gamers should want the cloud to work I've thought the same thing for a while now. I wasnt a fan of the Wii, or the first iteration of Kinect, but i wanted them to succeed because it was new(ish) tech/ideas. Gamers have a tendancy to complain about a lack of inovation from console manufacturers and devs, then do nothing but complain when they are faced with that innovation. It's similar to windows 8 and MS. If MS puts out an upgraded version of 7, people will say "well its good, but it isnt very "new" and isnt very innovative". So they try to something like windows 8 and take a lot of flack for it. I dont LOVE windows 8, but i dont hate it either. I do commend them for trying something new though. This extends to the Xbox One UI and OS. Is it perfect? Not even close, but they are working on it. As long as companies learn from their successes and failures, we as consumers can only benefit. Keep in mind that MS was the company that basically said "F. U." to all the dial up users when launching the original Xbox. Howd that work out for everyone? If they had launched that console with the current social media, they'd have been torn aport even more-so than they were for the always online/24 hour check-in.

The same people that bitched about not being able to trade in their discs (even though could have) are a lot of the same people buying all digital now and bitching about the lack of pre-load. This console gen has blown my mind. A lot of "new" gamers have an odd sense of Entitlement as well, though i've noticed that many ~30-and-under's have this attitude towards life as a whole.

It's a product of the U.S. instilled culture around the world now in light of all this Edward Snowden stuff. If you are in tech and were paranoid about being spied on but never had confirmation, you got your confirmation. And it just snowballed. A sever majority of the people now believe their opinion should be taken as fact over one sense of confirmation. That's at least what I believe. They should take that negative energy and apply into to the politics and try to force change there. Then we remember a lot of these guys have no singular voice. They follow the group. Can't speak up for themselves because of shyness or whatever. They are the epitome of "If so and so jumps off a bridge, do you jump off a bridge?" So far, it's all been yes.

This my not be the proper thread for this. With the latest news that Ms will be allowing the App store to work on all Windows phones,Pcs and the Xbox one as well as your purchase being good for use on all your systems does anyone think someone will make a working OG Xbox emulator for all windows platforms? Also do you think Ms will eventually allow some Pc games to be compatible with the X1?

I think that way it gets more attention. But you don't need to!

I think we can add to this thread the latest MS cloud demo: I think it was an good example how to utilize the cloud and I am excited now what else can be done. What do you think, was that demo just a show piece or is it something that actually will come to Xbox soon? What else might be possible? Today I had a discussion with a Sony fan and it is really frustrating how they simply deny the clouds abbilities even after watching this demo. I mean it is at last something that will benefit all gamers! That is something I really can't understand....

This is one of the features the Xbox One is built for and it will surely come to Xbox One at least for first and second party games.

cloud rendering isnt what azure was set up to do. nvidia are running servers with the graphic cards to do it. azure isnt set up to do that (yet). thats why the focus is on cloud computing.
