Hey everyone,
Wondering what people are thinking about the new headsets that are coming out that make use of the new stereo headset adapter. With rumors already circulating that the adapter might be able to support surround sound in the future not sure if its really worth investing in an expensive stereo headset. Cast a vote and let me know what you think you'll end up doing.
Personally thinking about picking up the Microsoft stereo headset since it includes the adapter ($25.00 alone) and a stereo headset and is the cheapest of the bunch recently released.

I am happy with the headset was in the Xbox One package. At the moment I have no need to buy a stereo headset. If I would need the adapter I would buy the headset because the adapter is too expensive in my eyes!

I have the stereo headset preordered. From what i have heard it sounds very good and the build quality is top notch. Stereo sound is ok for gaming. I have had a turtle beach earforce with 7.1 sound in The 360 days. Never had any advantage from it. But that may be just me... Anyway... Will let you know guys what i think when it arrives.

I just purchased the Polk Audio 4 Shot Headsets & I Love em I'm sure the audio quality is wonderful from Polk, but I wonder how well that near-field mic does with sensitivity and clarity?

If you already have a good stereo gaming headset all you need is the adapter and you can use those, just plug them directly into the adapter and now their wireless.

Good point... sadly, my Corsairs split into both mic and headphone jacks, I doubt I can "unsplit" them with a splitter adapter and have it still work with the xbox adapter

If you already have a good stereo gaming headset all you need is the adapter and you can use those, just plug them directly into the adapter and now their wireless. This is true. I actually bought the 80 dollar MS stereo headset. They are pretty nice, and come with the headset adapter. I couldn't find the adapter by itself at the time i wanted/needed, plus i read that the range and quality was pretty good on these new headsets, along with being very comfortable. My turtlebeach x42s were nice, but they made my head sore after an hour or so. These new ones don't bother me too much after even 3-4 hours. If you can find the adapter by itself (25 USD) and have a set of existing headphones, or just normal headphones with/without a mic that you want to use, the adapter wouldl be the way to go. If you don't, then give these a shot. They aren't a bad deal at 80 USD.

Get fancy and cut those things up. lol

I ended up picking up the Microsoft stereo headset and overall I am very impressed, while the I haven't really run it through any rigorous audio quality tests I like the fact that it can have gameplay and chat in the same headset. While I know this is the feature of the adapter and nothing specific to the Microsoft headset it is still really nice. It is comfortable but the side of my head will start to bother me after a while (mainly due to wearing glasses and having the frames mashed into the sides of my head) and this is a chronic problem with all over the ear headsets for me, so comfort should be less of a problem for non-glasses wearers.
If anyone is looking to pick up a headset or other accessory Best Buy is currently running a special for 15% off accessories when you buy a game (don't know how much longer this will be running). I was able to return the game (titanfall preorder got lost in transit, stupid UPS, so had to pick it up in store) and keep the 15% off, but this might have been a mistake that just wasn't caught when I made the return. If you were to be buying a game and thinking about a headset might be worth checking out regardless.

The Xbox One Stereo Headsets are good headsets.. if you ever question the quality of the mic (the speakers are noticeably good quality) just go ahead and plug the headset into your phone and have a phone call with someone and they will tell you how much better you sound.
