Dear Xboxgaf,
I'm sorry I haven't been a cheerful gentleman.I have had to spend a lot of time in the hospital getting Steroids and Pain meds through iv.Trying to avoid having major back surgery that would cause me to be hospitalized for 4 months. The surgery isn't even going to fix the issue,it is just to try slow the problem.
As promised and I know it's late. Here is the insider info.
Sincerely,
Imonamilkcarton
Well a lot of people want to know what makes the Xbox One special.Well let me explain thing for you in a easier context. It all starts with what Sony and Microsoft visions was and is.
Sony had the mindset of beating Microsofts next console in specs. They had to have the best specs, and better online.Microsoft had really stepped on Sony's toes last gen.Sony was also wanting to develop a easier system for Devs to work with.
Microsoft wanted to make a game console and entertainment device. They also wanted to make a console to make a profit from day one. They wanted to defeat piracy and maximize profits for partners.
The third player in this is game publishers who wanted game development easier and wanted piracy stopped. They are the ones who wanted DRM to stop piracy. They also wanted a slice of used games sales.
So Game Devs and Game Publishers pushed for Sony and Microsoft to go x86 in their feedback to them.X86 was easier to port to and from.It saves money on development. So that pushed both to Amd,because Intel parts was to high and their graphic solutions wasn't on pair with Amd.
Now we all know Microsoft wanted their console to always to be online, and that was shot down.
So this hurt Xbox One.Microsoft was stuck with what they had ran with.Which it's self was weaker paper specs. So Sony had won paper spec and the unified memory, and so it's game over for Microsoft.
Well it's a good thing Microsoft didn't just go with GCN 1.0 with modified CU that have extra compute built in like Sony.Which was a good idea by them.Yet Microsoft didn't need it.Microsoft got around that buy adding extra threads to CPU cores. They also add special processors to Jaguar cores that help with calculations.
The SOC is 2.5 stack, but the second layer does not have another GPU.The second layer has move engines and audio processors and Kinect processors. The top layer is Jaguar Cores,ESRAM,and GPU cores.
What helps the Microsoft makes up ground with HSA,PRT and Tile Resources. The CPU and GPU can Que. instructions in a dual pipeline, and the other SECERT is under certain circumstances 6 CUs can do double calculations and process that equals the production of 12 CUs.
On another note we did tip u the Tomb Raider For Xbox One
We also have tested GTA V on Xbox One,but it is not 100 percent done deal.
Other thing is What game is Rare working on that's not a Kinect game?
Also Lionhead is working on a third game that is not based on Fable!
I also heard a whisper Jade Empire is looking at a reboot?
Insider told me to update the post.
The reason the ESRAM takes up so much space is because it's 8t.Meaning it takes 8 transistors to make 1 mb
There is no second GPU,Think with logic how can 32mb. Of ESRAM and 5 gigs of ddr3 keep two GPU feed with data and handle frame buffers?
